Abstract

ABSTRAK

Kegiatan ini mengkaji kegiatan penyuluhan tentang penggunaan bahasa santun sebagai upaya pembentukan karakter siswa SMP di Kabupaten Bekasi. Latar belakang kegiatan ini didasarkan pada kenyataan bahwa penggunaan bahasa kasar dan tidak sopan masih umum di kalangan siswa, yang berdampak negatif terhadap karakter dan hubungan sosial mereka. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman dan penerapan norma berkomunikasi yang sopan serta membangun karakter positif siswa. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, praktek langsung melalui simulasi dan role-play, serta evaluasi berupa tes tertulis dan wawancara lisan selama empat sesi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai materi komunikasi, bahasa santun, dan menghindari kata kasar mencapai 71, 73, dan 74, dengan mayoritas siswa mampu mengaplikasikan pengetahuan mereka dalam berkomunikasi sopan. Hanya sekitar 30% siswa yang belum mencapai nilai standar 70. Disarankan agar pelaksanaan pembinaan karakter melalui bahasa santun ini dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dan terintegrasi dengan pendidikan moral serta melibatkan peran aktif orang tua dan masyarakat untuk membangun generasi muda yang berkarakter baik dan mampu berkontribusi positif dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat.

ABSTRACT

This activity involves a counseling on the use of polite language as an effort to shape the character of middle school students in Bekasi Regency. The background of this activity is based on the reality that rough and impolite language is still common among students, which has negative impacts on their character and social relationships. The aim of this activity is to improve understanding and implementation of proper communication norms and to foster positive character traits among students. The methods used include lectures, direct practice through simulations and role-playing, and assessments in the form of written tests and oral interviews over four sessions. Results show that the average scores for communication, polite language, and avoiding offensive words reach 71, 73, and 74, respectively, with most students able to apply their knowledge in polite communication. Only around 30% of students did not reach the passing score of 70. It is recommended that character development through polite language be conducted continuously and integrated with moral education, involving active roles of parents and the community to build a generation with good character and positive contributions to society.inancial literacy improvement among secondary school students is essential to prepare them for future economic challenges. The community service activity at SMA Alhusna in Bogor was conducted over three sessions employing methods such as counseling, practice, question and answer sessions, and evaluation. The core materials included basic literacy, digital literacy, and personal financial management. The results showed that the average test score was 78, which is considered good, indicating that participants' understanding was adequate. The role of parents is also very important in shaping children's financial habits. It is recommended that similar activities be continued sustainably and actively involve parents, so that young generations can manage their finances independently and responsibly, as well as utilize digital financial technologies wisely for their future prosperity.
